Dear Friends of Shakespeare in Delaware Park,
As our 51st summer season comes to a close, all I can say is WOW!
2026 was not without its challenges. Mother Nature was certainly not kind to us at the beginning of the season, bringing rain, heat, and even smoke! But, as always, when the weather cooperated, you ALL showed up as a community with enthusiasm and a love of Shakespeare that has kept SDP going year after year. For that, we are beyond grateful!
We are especially proud of all we accomplished this season. For the first time, we fully produced the adventures of Pericles, Prince of Tyre. The Taming of the Shrew delighted audiences with its comedy and hijinks. And our touring production, Fools & Foes, brought the magic of Shakespeare to venues and communities throughout Western New York.
None of this happens without YOU! Your generosity helps support artists, brings theatre to many different communities, and ensures that this wonderful tradition of FREE, accessible Shakespeare continues.
We are already looking ahead to our 52nd Season! The Saul Elkin Stage will host the political intrigue of Julius Caesar, and for the first time ever, we will be bringing Shakespeare in Love to the hill. We can’t wait!
But don’t worry, you don’t have to wait until next summer for SDP fun! Join us for our holiday fundraiser at Desiderio’s Dinner Theatre on December 7th, and mark your calendars for our Fabulous Feast on March 13th, featuring our “Beware the Ides of March” theme—Buffalo’s biggest toga party!
Thank you for believing in Shakespeare In Delaware Park, for braving the weather with us, for filling the hill, for visiting our touring venues throughout WNY, and most importantly, for being such a special part of our SDP family.
We can’t wait to see you again this year, and, of course, we’ll “see you on the hill” in 2027!
